Greetings, and welcome to my first blog entry! So after the opening two weeks of studying online, it is finally time to actually come to school and get all the feelings of a freshman. There is definitely a lot to take in, from knowing the way through all the floors to handling a plethora of tools that are at our disposal; but generally I feel excited and enthusiastic if anything!
Personally I hope to maintain this attitude throughout the semester, because by the looks of it, the assignments would all be tough nuts to crack. One of the first problems I find myself taking quite a lot of time dealing with is pinpointing a starting position, perhaps due to Prof Comm being a demanding creative field. Given time, however, I will certainly lighten up the dark!
On the other hand, I was looking forward to getting to know my peers and my team, so being able to see them face-to-face after such a long period of lockdown is what I truly appreciate. If you ask me, Making Media is an ideal course to be a part of after lockdown, since there is so much interaction to be made here (Mrs. Linda facilitated it perfectly!). This process of "reintegration to society" is quite a bittersweet one, one might say.
The icebreaking part is always the hardest to overcome. University life has knocked on my door, and it came along with a lot of pleasant surprises. It is up to me to embrace it all; in this I am certain I will succeed. As winter announces its arrival through soothing breezes and light raindrops, a bright student life at RMIT is waving at me. I must not let it wait, because the fun is just starting!
